Oh la la Paris!

After a 7 hour+ flight I've finally arrived in the city of lights. It has been over a year since I was here last and over two years since I studied here...so it's absolutely freakin' awesome to be back into such familiar yet still foreign surroundings. The city hasn't changed...and that couldn't make me any happier to know.
The feel, the people, the sun. They're all the same...yet still a bit different. I know it sounds weird but it's true! I swear! The setting is differe
nt, the perspective, I feel different here. Time is the reason why everything is altered a bit. Yet, I'm perfectly fine with it all. The people on the trip are awesome thus far, all different, from different areas and are equally as excited as I am about our adventures we've experienced and are about to experience together.
Our tour manager Ryan is from New Zealand and gets everyone abs
olutely enthuzed about Contiki! He totally got us all believing in NAPS (a strange Napoleon reference y'all will get if you go on a Contiki adventure of your own). Being welcomed into Paris by such amazing people like Ryan and Andy (our driver) along with many others makes traveling to such non-American places so much fun!!! I absolutely love it! I know I sound repetative but it's true. Everything is so fresh and feels so good when we're in a group like we are.
Seeing the main sites again was refreshing. I love tourists, they're so open and just waiting to experience absolutely everything. The Eiffel Tower still stands tall. The Moulin Rouge is still incredibly gaudy as hell. The french baguettes are still being made and devoured by people like me :)
Dinner at the Moulin Rouge was such an experience that Contiki wanted us all to have. The show was so tacky and the miniature ponie
s confused all of us. Breasts galore!!! Confusion galore!!! Wine galore!!! We probably stopped every five seconds in our own groups or together to take photos of ourselves in every different location.
Me and about five others broke off into a smaller group to explore th
e city and we found ourselves doing something not many people get to do. We ventured to the Catacombs of Paris...where thousands of dead bodies are piled on top of one another deep under the city streets. Truly one of my favorite, yet morbid, places on earth. One of the scariest places on Earth as well. Some people believe that deep enough into the tunnels one can find the gateway to hell. Thank goodness we didn't venture that far....hahaha.

And, once again, I'm fine with it all. It's all good!

Too much alcohol. So much fun!!!
